While I was away at CONvergence, John Scalzi and Patrick Nielsen Hayden had things to say about the F&SF Workshop thing. There's really nothing more for me to add. After reading all of the comments, it seems that I'm very much on the same page with nihilistic_kid . It will be interesting to see how F&SF deals with all of this criticism.

matociquala  also said some smart things about "How One Gets Published."  It's mostly the usual good stuff, but I liked her inclusion of "Build a Peer Group." I really have learned a lot from knowing different aspiring writers at more or less the same place in their careers. Along with all of the inside baseball stuff and critiquing, I highly value the emotional support. One of my favorite moments from this year's WisCon was hanging out with the "young" writers in the bar.
