Five Happy Things
Jan. 29th, 2008 04:03 pmA series of happy events...
1- Caitlin has been very giggly the last few days. She’s had great therapies, and has been laughing up a storm. She was especially taken by a game during speech therapy that involved a motorized penguin that ran on a track and offered fish. Marie cat was quite fixated on it. Apparently, Marie thought that the fish were real. This cracked Caitlin up a lot.
Caitlin’s obsession with the singer Neko Case also continues. When I put Neko on in the car this weekend, Caitlin yelled out, “’Eko.” She then started to sing along. I love my daughter, even though she’s probably cooler than me.
2- My grandmother is going home. She still has many health problems, but at least she’s stable enough to get out of the hospital.
3- Out of the blue, a local parent of another girl with Aicardi Syndrome called me today. She has organized a group of volunteers for the conference, thus taking that off of my plate. I can’t begin to thank her enough.
4- The stuff with Mad Norwegian Press is going well. Thanks to my work with MNP, I am now a member of the Doctor Who Information Network (the Canadian fan club) and received my first copy of the fanzine Enlightenment yesterday. It was a very pleasant surprise.
5- I finished writing another chapter of the novel this morning. I am at the ¾ point. As the kids would say, that is made of win.
