A Great Day for a Ballgame
May. 18th, 2008 03:05 pmWe’re usually a social family. In fact, we sort of crawl the walls if we don’t have plans every other night. This weekend, however, our schedules were clear. All we’ve done is take walks, garden, play with Caitlin, and watch DVDs and baseball. It has been wonderful. It’s been good to have some downtime before the insanity that will be WisCon.
Caitlin and I are sitting on the big red couch watching the Cubs game. I’ve been avoiding blogging about the Cubs strong start this season. It’s a lot like not mentioning a no-hitter while it’s happening. Barring some inconsistencies with Kerry Wood, I have few complaints. This is the best Cubs team that I’ve ever seen. Their balance is amazing. Geovany Soto is my new favorite Cub. Finally, we’ve developed an All-Star position player.
It seems that the Brewers aren’t going to give us as much trouble as I had expected (
mirrorthaw and
truepenny have my sympathies). I also refuse to believe that the Cardinals can keep this up. It really looks like the division is ours to lose.
