I haven’t blogged much in the last week, mostly because it’s been pretty dull around here. Caitlin is still off for the summer. She was a bit grumpy last week as her brain came back from seizureland, but she was otherwise healthy. Caitlin discovered Star Wars last week. I swear that I had nothing to do with it. She chose to watch Star Wars movies over Disney and Harry Potter (I blame all of those Clone War commercials). She laughed and screamed through all three films (Episodes IV-VI). The geek gene is strong in my daughter. :)
We had some adventures yesterday. We started with a nice afternoon at my mom’s apartment. We later went out to dinner with our friend
taraljc while my mom watched Caitlin in the evening. Tara and
rarelylynne are now working together on a seekrit book project, so this was mainly a chance for them to talk over some things in person. This meal also happened at the end of
VividCon, so we got to meet a bunch of cool people who are part of the fannish vid community.
One of the VividCon attendees was a fairly well known SF author. Since this author is a friend of Tara’s, Lynne scored an introduction. We are having a full meal with this author on Tuesday before a book signing so that Lynne can do her NIU SF Archive presentation. We are really looking forward to this.
The rest of the week will be spent watching Caitlin and writing. :)
