So Long, and Thanks for All of the Literary Rights

In an answer to absolutely no fan outcry, Douglas Adams’s widow decided to have author Eoin Colfer write a new Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy book.

In other new, Uwe Boll is in talks to direct Citizen Kane II: The Reckoning.

I realize that publishing is a business, but this buggering of legacies just makes me sad. Hitchhiker’s was special because of Adams’s voice and dark, existential humor. Not to mention, the last novel in the series that he wrote was already mostly unnecessary.

*sigh*

WindyCon!

The fall con season approaches. rarelylynne and I will be attending WindyCon. It's Chicago's oldest and grandest general SF convention. The theme this year is Military SF.

They just put up their programming sign-up. I'm hoping that we will see a ton of our friends there.
