[livejournal.com profile] darkshiver just posted an interesting link on her Twitter stream about a blogger who got sued for defamation of character.

Though this is not about our SFnal Bubble, I think it should be read as a cautionary tale. Many SF bloggers have written very extreme things about authors, editors, agents, and publishers during some of the different Internet kerfuffles. So far (to the best of my knowledge), nobody has been sued. I seriously doubt that will continue. It's not like an SF writer has never sued for defamation.

You need to be careful when you make accusations. Even if you know you're right, make sure that you have good facts behind your opinions.
