Things are quiet around here. That's probably a good thing.
We spent yesterday running errands in the drizzle. Our Border's gets more depressing every time we go there. It's essentially a Waldenbooks with some chairs at this point. I would guess that about half of their stock is gone. The SF/F section is pretty much just Urban Fantasy, Military SF, tie-ins, and a handful of the traditional bestsellers. It's almost impossible for me to find a book that I would buy on a whim.
I was able to pick up the "new" Doctor Who Magazine (410). I still get a little thrill from being able to find DWM in regular bookstores. I love DWM, though I will admit that I enjoyed it more during the Wilderness Years. It's a shame that the editors have to treat everything in the new series as sacred and perfect, but I understand their position. They currently have phenomenal access to the production. The last thing they want to do is piss all over that.
Yesterday turned out to be a Doctor Who day in general. My copy of The E-Space Trilogy arrived from DeepDiscount. We're working our way through all of the documentaries. I'm enjoying all of the production documentaries (as always), but I'm not sure how I feel about these new documentaries that tackle concepts like blood, parallel universes, or vampires without really tying it back to Doctor Who. There's nothing wrong with these documentaries; I'm just not sure they belong on Doctor Who DVDs.
Oh, well. I should probably go mow the lawn.
