• Leave me a comment saying "Resistance is Futile."

• I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can satisfy my curiosity

• Update your journal with the answers to the questions

• Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions (I'll also answer more, if asked)

From [livejournal.com profile] dark_aegis:

1) Do you listen to music when you write? Or is there a specific "ritual" you do before you or when you write?

Yes. Always. Music is an important part of my ritual. It inspires me and keeps me focused. I tend to do all of my writing at coffeehouses, so I need the music to block out the conversations and soul-crushing Muzak. I have no idea how the smooth jazz at Panera doesn't drive all of the employees to stick their heads in the bread oven.

2) If you had the chance to meet a famous person from any era in human history - an actor/actress or a famous leader or whatnot - who would it be and why?

Jesus Christ. I have some questions that only he can answer. I realize that this a boring choice, but all of Western Civilization is formed on the foundations of his teachings. And yet, we still have so little historical information about the person. We're not even sure about the accuracy of all of the Gospels. This is one of the most frustrating things about Doctor Who. If given the choice, every human companion would want to meet Jesus. It would be one of their first three requests.

3) What surprises you the most about Doctor Who fandom?

I'm surprised at how it contains all of these separate fan bubbles that think they're the only Doctor Who fandom. The LJ fandom could care less about the UK fanzine boys of the 1980s who were the BNFs of the Wilderness Years. Likewise, those boys have no idea how big the online female fandom has grown.

4) If you could do anything - have superpowers, go somewhere, win the lottery, etc - what would it be and why?

I need to start this by saying I love my daughter just as she is. She's an awesome kid. That being said, I wish I could go back in time and repair that damaged X chromosome. Aicardi syndrome is horrible. No child should have to experience Infantile Spasms or the massive developmental delays.

5) What's your favorite holiday?

I love Christmas: the tacky decor, the cheesy music, and the goofy holiday specials. I love it to bits. I want to put up the tree this weekend.
