Here's my schedule:
Friday, 4:30pm- Tradition and Travesty. With Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and other over-the-top cross-genre writing, sometimes it's just for a joke ("Hello, Kthulhu"!), and other times there's more. Hard-boiled faerie detectives, werewolf bodice-rippers, Jane Austen as an alien spy, a teddy bear as a terrorist – is there any mix so bizarre it couldn't get readers? We will include a brief survey and discussion of "cross genre" writing Georgie Schnobrich (M), Richard Chwedyk, Lori Devoti, Michael Thomas
Saturday, 1:00pm- My Secret Treasure. Join an open discussion of the books, stories, graphic novels, films or TV shows you love and treasure although everyone else has seemingly passed them by. Tell us why you like it and why you think it deserves greater attention! This will be led by the panelists, with audience participation encouraged. Richard Chwedyk (M), Michael Thomas, Lynn Laakso, Erik Olson
Saturday, 5:30pm- Doctor Who. A discussion of this SF television legend, including his most recent regenerations in television and the movies. Michael Thomas (M), Bethany Nelson, Carol Hornung, Gabriel Dybing, Nicholas Ozment
Sunday, 11:30am- Chicks Dig Time Lords! A discussion of the recent book Chicks Dig Time Lords: A Celebration of Doctor Who by the Women Who Love It (ed. Lynne Thomas), and why female fans are so interested in this ancient alien. Lynne Thomas (M), Michael Thomas, Kathy Sullivan
I hope to see you there! :-)
