Odd Con Report
Apr. 20th, 2010 11:59 amMy brain is still adjusting to real life after a wonderful weekend in Madison. We hung out with numerous old friends and made some new ones.
Con reports are getting trickier to write after doing so many events. I could list all of the people who we saw, but then I feel like a boring name-dropper. At this stage, all of our friends are the pros or aspiring pros at the con. We spent the weekend talking shop, gossiping, eating, and drinking. Since most of those conversations were private, I really can't repeat the stories. Suffice to say, we had a great time and learned quite a bit about the behind-the-scenes sausage making of the SF/F world from authors, agents, editors, and SMOFs.
My panels could have been better. I'm coming to the conclusion that I'm just not that excited about general Doctor Who panels anymore. It's time to pass the torch to newer fans.
Caitlin had an okay time with Grandma. Unfortunately, she was a barfy on the first day. Everything turned out fine, but it did make me edgy at the con. Even when I know she's fine and in good hands, I feel like I should rush home.
I suppose I should get some more writing done. :-)
