I sort of remember him from Ruby and the Smoke. He's only 26. Not surprisingly, some fans are not taking this well. One camp is pissed off that he's too young. Another camp is pissed off that he's a white man.
People need to chill. This was not a rushed decision, and the production team wants Doctor Who to be the best show on television. I have every confidence that he was the best choice that they could have made. We haven't seen his audition or any of the others. We also don't know which actors were actually interested in the role.
Trust them. Matt Smith will be brilliant.
