Nice Day for a Sulk
Feb. 3rd, 2009 11:11 amI am miserable. There’s nothing wrong in particular, but I still feel drained from yesterday. I had to drive Caitlin to Aurora in order to pick up her new AFOs (braces). She kept falling asleep during the drive. As you all know, she gets bad seizures if she naps. I had to spend two hours poking her while driving. She would wake up, cry, and then fall asleep again. It was horrible and dangerous.
I also had a scare with a band-aid. Caitlin has a habit of putting her right hand in her mouth. Due to the never-ending winter, she has been making her index finger raw enough to bleed. We put a band-aid on it two days ago, and it was gone when I brought her into the orthotist’s office. For a couple of minutes, I panicked because I was afraid that she had “swallowed” it. Since she aspirates, this would be a BAD thing. Thankfully, I found it in her coat sleeve.
Not surprisingly, I got nothing done the rest of the day. Today isn’t much better. I spent the whole morning running errands at the post office and Wal-Mart. Man, that store crushes your soul.
I’ll probably spend the afternoon reading the manuscript for About Time 3: Second Edition. So far, it’s as good as the other volumes. It’s actually making me want to re-watch some Pertwee episodes.
Just finished reading: The Stepsister Scheme by Jim C. Hines
Currently reading: About Time 3: Second Edition by Tat Wood (and Lars Pearson)
Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson
