Con-news.com linked to great article today from Strange Horizons about the FedCon and JumpCon fiascoes. I found myself nodding along quite a bit. The bottom line is "buyer beware." There are lots of great established conventions out there that can be trusted, but there are plenty of new one that you really should investigate before you give them any money.
