State of Cait
Apr. 24th, 2010 10:22 amCaitlin had a good week. We met with her communication team on Monday to work on some strategies for the programming and implementation of her communication device. We're all on the same page, which is a very good thing. One of the exciting things we will be doing is programming questions for her friends into the device. Cait is really excited about having the ability to communicate with her peeps. It excites her much more than using her device for homework. :-)
Some of you will get to see her with it at the Madison Chicks Dig Time Lords signing. It's pretty exciting stuff.
Cait also got to take a walk down our block with her PT on Thursday. She needed a lot of assistance with a special harness, but she held herself up and used her right leg to step forward.
It looks like Cait will be going to a new elementary school next year. She'll lose some friends, but this is a newer building built to ADA standards. The part that's freaking me out is that it's far enough away that she'll need to be bussed.
It was a tragic week in the Aicardi syndrome community. Two of our angels passed away.
