My Rewrite Brain Hurts and Seekrits
Apr. 28th, 2010 02:52 pmI'm rewriting a short story this week based on a couple of critiques. Since the comments were nearly identical, I have a pretty good idea about where the story is broken. Now all I have to do is come up with some clever ways to make it better. No problem. :P
Everything else remains quiet. Okay, that's a lie. The truth is full of seekrits and necessary discretion. That's the problem with Social Networking. I want to be interesting, but there's all this stuff I can't talk about until later (if at all).
I'm working on a seekrit project. Why is it seekrit? Because too many things can happen before a project becomes "real." There have been two seekrit projects of mine that fizzled after the initial discussions in the last few years. I feel confident about this one, but one never knows what can happen.
The same goes for
rarelylynne. I can't tell you how hard it was to keep our mouths shut during the early stages of Chicks Dig Time Lords. Every time an awesome contributor said yes, our instincts were to yell it to the world. Strange things happen, though, during the process of making a book. For instance, some of our contributors who initially said yes had to drop out of the project later (one of those names would make your draw drop). It would have been embarrassing for all of us if those names were prematurely attached to the book.
