Writing Through Distractions

I keep eating this elephant one bite at a time. I hope that when I’m a fancy, grown-up author this will get easier. As I was saying over at eeknight’s blog, it was really hard to get in my writing headspace this week. Still, I kept working and didn’t use the distractions as an excuse.

I had much better flow today. My writing on this novel seems easiest when I’m either doing a snappy dialogue scene or a small action piece. Today was a small action piece. Sometimes there is nothing more cathartic than writing a little bit of heroine-kicking-small-monster-ass action.

It would be nice to sneak in some writing over the weekend, but that might be tricky if we need to run to the hospital again.
