Fighting Off An Early Climax

My other commitments kept from getting much done this week. This is not a completely bad thing. All of the time driving around to doctors yesterday gave me a chance to rethink my last couple of thousand words. It’s not that they need to be dropped; it’s just that I’ve started to rush things too much. The problem is that I’m almost at the climax, and I just feel this great need to damn the torpedoes and finally get to it.
The ending of the novel has been there since I started this beast back in July. Everything else has morphed on the way, but that key image has sat there like the train light at the end of the tunnel. I have to remember that some other things must be dealt with before the payoff, or the damn thing will only make sense to me.
Hopefully I will get back into my groove tomorrow. I feel very confident that I’ll have this monster boxed by WisCon.
