Doctor Who- Partners in Crime

michaeldthomasI just watched Doctor Who 4.01- “Partners in Crime.”
I loved it. It was sweet, goofy fun. Donna is a fantastic, unique companion. She’s sort of a combination of the best parts of Barbara, Sarah Jane, and Romana II.
Were there plot holes? Sure. Does it matter? No.
Those were also the cutest damn aliens ever.
The Rose cameo was also completely unexpected and wonderful, proving that it is possible to keep a secret on the Interwebs. The funny thing for me is that I had no idea how much I missed Rose until that moment.
David also just gets better and better. In his first season, he tended to overplay the comedy. He now has that Tom Baker Series 13 balance.
Of course, there are old school fans battering this episode for the usual bitchy things that they always go after. It’s like they haven’t watched the first three seasons. It’s time for people to either accept that this is the tone of the new series, or they just need to walk away. I can’t figure out why people watch a series that they no longer like. I guess that people just need something to bitch about.
